WINEDS® Benchmark System is a complete PC based X-ray Microanalysis system that will satisfy both the experienced microscopist and the novice user.
The Benchmark System includes intuitive interface software, computer, New Generation Digital Pulse Processor, Power Supply and detector (if needed). The package includes all the hardware necessary to make your system operational.
The Benchmark system is for users who do not need imaging capability (for information regarding Imaging please refer to the Premium System).

WINEDS® microanalysis software incorporates the tools and functionality you’ve come to expect from Windows™ software. Some of these include drag and drop file capability, multiple fully resizable Spectrum windows, ability to customize display properties such as screen colour etc, floating and dockable toolbars, full drag and drop support, direct print, print preview and print to Windows™ clipboard, long file names etc.
Analyse your sample
The WINEDS® Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis functions can be performed using either automated or manual functions. The novice user can quickly get results by using the fully automated Wizards, whilst the experienced user can obtain results by selecting Intelligent semi-automatic or manual options.
Quantitative Analysis
WINEDS® can perform standardless analysis that will work on all samples, or complete quantitative analysis for when the most accurate result possible is required.
The Quant Wizard will perform Quantitative Analysis by automatically suggesting and setting up analysis parameters. During standardless analysis automatic Top Hat digital filtering is used and PRZ, ZAF or TEM thin-film corrections are employed.
To assist you in your analysis work, the operating conditions under which each sample is analyzed are stored with the spectrum data.
Although WINEDS® is very easy to use, help is close at hand via ToolTips and the on line help. A hardcopy manual and tutorial is also provided.
Digital Pulse Processor & Power Supply
The WINEDS® New Generation Digital Pulse Processor is a 32 bit PCI Plug and Play card that uses a complex programmable logic device which gives improved resolution and an increased X-ray count rate with reduced dead time.
The detector signal is digitized immediately, digitally filtered and transferred through a high speed DPP link via the PCI bus at 132Mbyte per second. Throughput is guaranteed to be greater than 80,000 stored counts per second.
Ultimate spectral fidelity is achieved through digital filtering. Accurate zero stabilization is maintained via intelligent digital baseline restoration algorithms.
The user can select Digital Pulse Processor parameters through the WINEDS® interface software including shaping time, low energy threshold and detector reset time.
The WINEDS® Digital Pulse Processor will provide optimum resolution and outstanding stability.
The system also comes with a high voltage power supply with automatic FET protection circuitry.
